Isabel joined the group in May 2017, as a Masters student in Bioinformatics at Université de Montréal, where she completed a B.Sc in Biomedical Sciences in 2016. She works on the population genetics of a gene implicated in the response to treatment of cardiovascular disease, ADCY9. Specifically, her project aims at studying the selective pressures acting on genetic diversity in ADCY9, which has been associated with several phenotypes, such as obesity, asthma, malaria and responses to the drug Dalcetrapib. Her broad interests revolve around personalized medicine. She’s now pursuing her PhD. in bioinformatics on the same project in the lab.
