Marie Laurence is an undergraduate student in bioinformatics at University of Montreal. She has a strong interest in population genetics and the application of machine learning methods to biological data analysis. For her summer internship, she will work on improving the Diet Network, a deep learning method for inferring genetic ancestry in biobank data, by integrating underrepresented populations and developing a metric to quantify prediction confidence.
