Ratzy-Chris is an MSc student in Bioinformatics, passionate about computational biology and data-driven discovery. Combining his interests in population genetics with computational, statistical, and machine learning tools, he seeks to understand how genetic variation shapes population structure and contributes to human disease susceptibility. In his MSc project, he works on dimensionality reduction methods (PCA, PHATE, neural network-based models) to faithfully represent genetic data and population structures, characterizing the fine-scale genetic structure of French-Canadian subpopulations using large-scale genotyping data. His goal is to develop rigorous and interpretable computational frameworks for the study of human genetics. He joined the lab in the summer of 2025 as a research intern, where he evaluated the PHATE approach for characterizing fine-scale genetic structure in French-Canadian subpopulations, laying the groundwork for his current MSc project.
