Roberto Holgado-Cuadrado is a PhD student in biomedical engineering and signal processing at the University of Alcalá, Madrid (Spain). He is associated with the Department of Signal Theory and Communications at the University of Alcalá, where he belongs to the COMB research group (Communications, Multirate Systems, and Biomedical Engineering), which focuses on different areas of electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis; including characterization of ECG signals, detection of cardiac pathologies and development of machine learning methods. His PhD project, co-supervised by Manuel Blanco Velasco, focuses on the characterization of clinical noise in long-term monitoring ECG recordings. He is currently doing a research stay in Julie Hussin’s lab, where he is developing research on the application of artificial intelligence for predicting genetic ancestry using ECG signals.
